Lee Bright Announces Campaign for Congress

Spartanburg, SC - Lee Bright released the following statement announcing the launch of his campaign for South Carolina's 4th Congressional District:

“South Carolina voters are sick and tired of radical Leftists and establishment Republicans constantly eroding our rights,” said Lee Bright. “In the last presidential election, voters sent a clear message that they want to drain the swamp, but too many in Congress are standing in the way of this mandate. It is no longer good enough to simply have a Republican majority. We need a majority of true conservatives in Congress to support President Trump’s agenda.”

Bright continued, “While many politicians talk a big game, I have proven that I have the guts to fight the establishment politicians and power brokers in Washington. During my time in the South Carolina Senate, I fought time and time again against radical Leftist policies. I led the charge to repeal Obamacare, and I stood in the way of the gun-grabbers who wanted to infringe on our Second Amendment rights. Like President Trump, I will work every day to drain the swamp in Washington, even if I have to fight the leaders in my own party to do get the job done.”

Lee Bright has spent his entire political career fighting liberals and establishment politicians. In the legislature, Lee led the charge on issues important to his constituents, including fighting to protect our right to bear arms, protecting the lives of the unborn, and making sure that every tax dollar was spent responsibly. And, even though many said it was futile, Lee Bright has pushed relentlessly for the Freedom of Choice Healthcare Act to “opt-out” of Obamacare.

“This seat is too critical for South Carolinians and conservatives to be represented by someone who won't do what it takes to effect positive change for our country,” Bright stated. “I am proud to say today that if elected, one of my first actions as a Member of Congress will be to join the Freedom Caucus. There are many reliable conservative members in the Freedom Caucus, including members of the South Carolina delegation, and they’ve been at the front of every fight against liberal polices from both parties. I would be honored to join them.

“Additionally, I am proud to have already signed the U.S. Term Limits Congressional Pledge, promising that as a member of Congress I will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits Amendment. This would limit House Members to three terms and Senate Members to two terms. Out of touch, career politicians in both parties have led to the corrupt system we see today in Washington. Term limits are a great start to ending the cycle of corruption and returning the power back to the people, just like our founding fathers intended.”

A life-long resident of Spartanburg, Lee Bright is married and has two children. He operates a logistics company as well as an independent insurance agency based in South Carolina. A member of Roebuck Baptist Church, Lee has served as a board member of the Palmetto Family Council, Attorney General’s Commission on the Family, and served on the Southeastern Baptist Seminary Board of Visitors.
